“Agora” kelimesi, modern dünyanın unuttuğu kadim bir fiilden, “Ageirein”den gelir: Toplanmak. Antik çağlarda Agora, sadece malların değil; fikirlerin, kültürlerin ve ruhların toplandığı yerdi. İstanbul, binlerce yıldır bu “toplanmanın” başkentidir. Ancak bu Agora’yı besleyen damar, antik çağlardan beri “Chrysokeras”, yani Altın Boynuz olarak anılan Haliç’tir. Efsaneye göre, güneş batarken sulara vuran ışık o kadar yoğundu ki, Bizanslılar denizin altına dönüştüğüne inanırdı.
Agora is inspired by the ancient idea of “gathering,” a place where ideas, cultures, trade, and souls once came together. It captures Istanbul’s thousand-year-old cultural heritage, the spice-filled atmosphere of its bazaars, and the waters of the Golden Horn — known in antiquity as “Chrysokeras” — turning into gold at sunset.

Agora takes its name from Istanbul’s millennia-old tradition of “gathering.” A story stretching from the gold-hued waters of the Golden Horn to the spices burning at the heart of the bazaar.
